Don't Let This Giant Android Robot Play Angry Birds With That Snapping Mouth of His [Video]

He may look big enough to squeeze into, like the R2-D2 from the other day, but I wouldn't suggest trying—judging by the video below he's quite deft with the jaw-snapping, and isn't too stable on his feet either. More »

Motorola's wraparound S10-HD Bluetooth headphones: for the Usain Bolt in all of us

Clearly, introducing one Bluetooth headset in a single day just isn't enough for Motorola. In addition to the Oasis, the outfit has also let loose the new S10-HD, a wraparound set that is marketed as Bluetooth headphones rather than a BT headset (though it's fully capable of acting as either / both). As expected, these guys are designed to withstand all sorts of sweat beads, enabling fitness junkies to keep on rockin' in the free world regardless of how steamy the conditions may be. We're also told that the speakers are recessed in their housing with a new ear cushion interface and hydrophobic acoustic mesh (fancy!), and silicon seals are in place around all of the electrical components. Should you receive a call while streaming tunes, it'll gently pause the music until your call is done, and afterwards it'll resume automatically. The S9-HD's proper successor will be landing in Best Buy locations starting October 24th for $79.99.

Word Domination helps you become a crossword puzzle monster

worddomination

Quick, I need an eight-letter word that starts with B, and letter six is R! Any ideas?

If questions like this make you draw a blank, Word Domination can come in very handy the next time you're struggling with those last few words of a crossword puzzle. It gave me 97 different results for this particular query, including "bescorch" and "bevatron."

I wasn't really sure what a bevatron was, so I clicked the word. Word Domination then transported me to the bevatron word page, where I discovered that it's a historic particle accelerator. Now I feel a bit less ignorant, because it's more of a proper noun that "just a word." But I guess that, somewhere in the world, a sadistic crossword puzzle author might call for "historic particle accelerator, six letters, horizontal."

Word Domination comes up with more ordinary words, too. The list is sorted alphabetically - not by frequency. The whole site feels very clean, modern, and fun to use. There's a "simple mode," too, which supports the asterisk wildcard (like b*tron) and doesn't make you specify the number of letters that the results should contain.

Their "About Us" page is empty, so I can't tell you who's behind the site, but as long as it works, it works!

Google Docs gets six new fonts, including Calibri, courtesy of Google Font API

It's about time! You can now choose from almost twice as many fonts when editing a Google Docs document. Calibri, Cambria, Droid Serif, Droid Sans, Corsiva and Consolas are now available. Such magic is brought to us via the Google Font API.

Curiously, only the Droid fonts show up in the Google Font Directory, but whether that's for licensing reasons or not I don't know. Perhaps it just hasn't been updated yet.

Anyway, choice is great and all -- they're working on adding more fonts and support for other character sets! -- but the most important thing is that imported Microsoft Word docs written in Calibri will now import properly into Google Docs. Hooray!
